Hon Tre - Tre Island
It takes you roughly 2 hours from Rach Gia Boat Station from mainland to reach the Tre Island, or Hon Tre as how we call it in the local term. The island was recorded to be 3.5 kilometers in length, 2 kilometers wide in maximum and the highest peak reaches the height of 395 meters above sea level. The local citizens earn their daily living by gardening and aquaculture. Coconut Cave and Cup Beach (Bai Chen) are the most famous attractions on the island.
The Cup Beach is situated on the Northwestern of the Tre Island, which is known as a little bay with calm waves and lasting for about 2 kilometers. The most recognizable feature of the Beach is a group of many large round plains of rock in shape of huge cups scattering along the shore. This part is the most beautiful and pristine beach all over the island.
Hon Doc - Doc Island
Doc Island belongs to Ha Tien Town, Kien Giang Province locating on the Western side of Vietnam’s coastline. The Doc Island combined with its surrounding islands group into “the Pirate Islands”, or “Dao Hai Tac”, a familiar name given by many local citizens living in the city. This group of 16 islands has a coverage of 1.100 hectares lying approximately 27.5 kilometers away from Ha Tien Town.
A view from The Pirate Islands
Nowadays, the Doc Island only attracts a small investment in terms of tour packages by local operators. However, the place still appeals many large groups of backpacker self-exploring. If you are currently the lesser-known coastal cities to plan for your own beach vacation in Vietnam, a thought about this place needs a certain consideration.
Currently, there is a site on the Doc Island preserving a tower-shaped landmark, which is officially known as relic left from the Vietnamese Navy of the First Republic of Vietnam since 1958. The mark was made of grindstone and played its part as an important legal proof regarding the territory of the country. With a great potential in nature and history, the Doc island promises to be a leading name in the list of best islands in Vietnam within the years coming.
These three spots are easily combined alongside with a trip to Phu Quoc for instance. If you have heard so much about the sensational Phu Quoc Islands and aspire to pay a visit to the place but still searching for a quieter seashore with lesser people and the finest pristine nature for your Instagram feed, then do not hesitate to give them a go.
